Fondazione FORMA per la Fotografia
Located in a former historical tramway warehouse, The architectural complex can be easily recognized from the outside for the large glass entrance-hall representing a lighted “lantern” on the town. This also provides a separate entrance to gain access either to the meeting hall on the upper floor, the terrace overlooking the beautiful square lined with trees and the print room.
The exhibition area
FORMA has a total surface of 1700 sqm, of which about 800 dedicated to the exhibition area. The exhibiting areas follow international museum standards, such as adjustable lightning that allows different layouts and a continuous monitoring of humidity level and temperature. The White Room, a smaller “u” area, of great atmosphere introduces to the two wider areas, ideal for larger shows: the Column Room and the Glass Room.
Last but not least, the Laboratory Room, the perfect space to exhibit more condensed works, on-location projects or photographic treasures, is continuously in function and offers the public specific shows aiming to examine in depth new visual languages, monographies, historical testimonies from the Corriere della Sera Archives.
The Capriate room
FORMA upper floor hosts two rooms, reserved to meetings and seminars connected to our school of photography.
The Trusses Room is often used for conferences, lectures with artists and photographers, presentations and debates. Under its magnificent wooden girders, this room hosts up to 100 people. The architectural structure of the building itself offers the possibility to host simultaneously several events.
The didactics rooms
FORMA upper floor also features two didactics rooms, often used for workshops, seminars and educational programs for adults and children.
